Some 2005-2007 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with 5.4L engines may exhibit diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0171, P0172, P0174, P0175 with or without drivability concerns being evident. The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) may also be illuminated. Some vehicles may also experience a cyclic surge in cruise control mode while operating on a smooth level road.
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
Check for any vacuum leaks, disconnected vacuum hoses, inspect the intake manifold assembly and the mass air flow sensor (MAF) before reprogramming the powertrain control module (PCM).
Reprogram the PCM to the latest calibration using IDS release 51.5 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the VCM 2007.9 DVD. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraft.com.
Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage And Emissions Warranty Coverage
