This article supersedes TSB 13-9-14 to update the Service Labor Time Standards and Part List.
Some 2011-2014 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L diesel engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL and DTC P2043. This DTC sets due to a fault in the reductant heater assembly.
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
- Using an Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) or equivalent, check for DTCs. Is DTC P2043 present?
- No – this article does not apply. Refer to Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual for normal diagnostics.
- Yes – proceed to Step 2.
- Replace the reductant heater and sender assembly. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-08.
