  • IKT OR IA – INABILITY TO UNLOCK DOOR – POSSIBLY INTERMITTENT – BUILT BETWEEN 7/1/2010 AND 1/26/2011

ISSUE:

Some 2011 F-150, F-Super Duty, Edge, Explorer and MKX vehicles built between 7/1/2010 and 1/26/2011, may exhibit an inability to unlock the door(s) using the integrated keyhead transmitter (IKT) or intelligent access (IA) key. This condition may be intermittent.

ACTION:

Follow the Service Procedure to correct the condition.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

  1. Follow updated Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-14 for tire pressure monitor (TPM) diagnostics in the Remote Keyless Entry system.
  2. If diagnostic routine leads to replacement of TPM module, follow WSM Section 204-04 for removal and installation of TPM module.

    NOTE:SUSPECT PARTS HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM SERVICE STOCK. REPLACE WITH EXISTING SERVICE STOCK.
