  • DRIVEABILITY – BI-FUEL LPG – CRANK NO START, ROLLING IDLE, SURGING IDLE, AND/OR SURGE AT CRUISE IN LPG MODE WITH ALT FUEL GREEN LIGHT ON

ISSUE:

Some 2001-2002 Bi-Fuel LPG vehicles may exhibit a no start, rolling idle, surging idle and/or surge at cruise condition in LPG mode with ALT fuel green light on. This may be caused by contaminated fuel causing the Low Flow injectors in the Compuvalve to stick, or by a faulty circuit board in the Compuvalve.

ACTION:

Refer to the following Service Procedure to determine diagnostic requirements for no start, rolling idle, surging idle and/or surge at cruise condition in LPG mode with ALT fuel green light on.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

Refer to the following Service Procedure flow charts (Figure 1 and Figure 2) to determine diagnostic requirements for no start, rolling idle, surging idle and/or surge at cruise condition in LPG mode with ALT fuel green light on.

NOTE:THE NEW COMPUVALVE IS SUPPLIED WITH A NEW GROUND STRAP. THIS GROUND STRAP IS ALSO AVAILABLE SEPARATELY. REFER TO FIGURE 3 FOR INSTALLATION DETAILS.
