Some 2011-2012 F-Super Duty F-450 and F-550 chassis cab vehicles equipped with a 6.8L engine and built on or before 12/16/2011 may exhibit a cold start delayed SEIC operation while running the PTO.
Follow Service Procedure Steps to correct the condition.
Reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) to the latest calibration using IDS release 86.01 and higher. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraft.com.
Vehicles equipped with PTO may require long warm-up times entering SEIC in cold climates. The calibration update contains improvement actions to enable PTO operation with engine coolant temperature at -7 °C (20 °F).
