  • MIL ILLUMINATED WITH DTC P0756, P0761 OR P0771 AFTER OVERHAUL OR INSTALLATION OF 2005 TORQSHIFT TRANSMISSION

ISSUE:

Some vehicles equipped with a 6.0L diesel and the Torqshift transmission, may exhibit the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) illuminated with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0756, P0761 or P0771. This condition will occur if the powertrain control module (PCM) and transmission control module (TCM) are not reprogrammed after installing a 2005-level replacement transmission, installing transmission rebuild kit 5C3Z-7A398-SA, or after overhauling the transmission with 2005-level components.

ACTION:

Reprogram the PCM and TCM to the latest calibration using WDS release B34.2 or higher. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraft.com. Clear KAM, DTCs and verify repair.
