Some 2007-2008 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 4.6L engine, may exhibit a rough running, hesitation and/or induction backfire during the first drive away event following an overnight or extended soak. No diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) or other driveability concerns should be observed. This typically occurs when the ambient temperature is below 60 °F (16 °C). The event will last only 20-40 seconds and normal operation will return once the system enters closed loop.
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
|NOTE:||IF OTHER DRIVEABILITY CONCERNS ARE PRESENT OR NOTED BY THE CUSTOMER, DO NOT CONTINUE WITH THIS TSB. FOLLOW NORMAL WORKSHOP MANUAL (WSM) DIAGNOSTICS.|
