WARNING: THIS MODIFICATION IS AUTHORIZED ONLY FOR THE LISTED ENGINE. PERFORMING THIS MODIFICATION ON OTHER ENGINE CALIBRATIONS IS UNAUTHORIZED AND COULD CREATE LIABILITY UNDER APPLICABLE FEDERAL OR LOCAL LAWS.

ISSUE:

An engine stall condition may occur on some 1997 California F-Series 7.3L Diesel E4OD vehicles after a long decel when using M1 gear for engine braking. When upshifting after the decel, the engine may stall if it is at approximately 1000 rpms (10 mph). This may be caused by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) calibration.
