  • 5.4L AND 6.8L GAS ENGINE CALIBRATION UPDATE

2008-2009 F-Super Duty

ISSUE:

Some 2008-2009 F-Super Duty 250-550 vehicles equipped with a 5.4L or 6.8L engine and built on or before 3/12/2009, 2008 F53 Motorhome chassis equipped with 6.8L engine and either a 5R110W or M6HD transmission may experience a rolling idle or idle speed dropping below specification, malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) along with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). The DTCs include the following: P0111 (Intake Air Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit Range/Performance), P1635 (Tire/Axle Out of Acceptable Range), P0054 (Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit - Bank 1 Sensor 1) or P0456 (Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected - Very Small Leak).

Vehicles equipped with a 5R110W automatic transmission may also experience intermittent symptoms in reverse as described below when performing repetitive engagements and drive-away events such as snowplowing.
