The air cleaner element may allow dust to bypass due to the air cleaner element collapsing/distorting under severe dust conditions. This may be caused by a restricted, excessively dirty air cleaner element. The restriction may result in enough force to collapse the air cleaner element and/or move the element bead off of the air cleaner housing's sealing surface.
