    2006 Harley Davidson F-150 Safety

"The new Harley-Davidson™ F-150 brings Ford's occupant classification technology – part of our extensive Personal Safety System™ – to the Harley-Davidson™ F-series models for the first time."
    – Susan Cischke, Vice President, Environmental and Safety Engineering

As with all Ford vehicles, the 2006 Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150 has been engineered with a focus on safety. As a result, it has been equipped with numerous safety features.

    Crash-optimized structure

If a collision is unavoidable, the 2006 Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150 helps to protect its occupants with a structure designed to help absorb and dissipate crash energy and maintain occupant compartment integrity.

The strong hydroformed front frame rails help manage crash forces. In an impact, these areas of the frame are designed to collapse in an accordion fashion, dissipating energy before it reaches the passenger compartment.

    Restraint systems

Advanced restraints provide additional occupant protection, which includes passenger-seat occupant classification as part of more than a dozen elements that make up the Personal Safety System™ – a suite of restraint technologies designed to tailor their response to the severity of the crash and other factors.

    Weight sensing

The seat occupant classification system uses weight-sensing technology to deactivate the passenger-side air bag when appropriate. This feature is designed to protect children and small-statured passengers from possible air bag injury.

    BeltMinder™

All 2006 Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150s are equipped with BeltMinder™, a technology that uses sound and a flashing icon to remind drivers to buckle up.
A vehicle occupant's best line of defense in crashes remains the safety belt. Ford Motor Company's industry-leading technology reminds the driver and front-seat passenger to buckle up by sounding a gentle tone and displaying an icon on the instrument panel.

    Child passenger safety

The 2006 Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150 SuperCab has three sets of LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) fixtures and top tether anchors across the rear seat, and a top tether anchor on the front passenger seat.
