Porter, TX (June 11, 2010) - Nothing is better than competitive racers leaving it all out on the track. Then adding to the excitement of the race, it’s an all female event supporting Breast Cancer Research. In its fifth year, a record number of participants are expected for the annual Powder Puff Off-Road Challenge presented by Mohave Off-Road Enthusiast (M.O.R.E.) with high performance synthetic lubrication manufacturer Royal Purple as title sponsors.

“With the increasing number of women racers and spectators at each race, we’re anticipating this year’s event to be the biggest and best yet. The Powder Puff is not just about winning the race. It’s about supporting the research to find a cure for breast cancer, honoring those who are fighting cancer and survivors, and remembering those who have succumbed to the disease,” said Patrick Burris, Royal Purple Motor Sports Coordinator.

The Powder Puff Off-Road Challenge is the biggest all women driver event with teams representing eight different states. It is also one of the largest events annually presented by M.O.R.E. All vehicles run a 28-mile loop and are split into two different heats during the competition.

Last year, the Powder Puff Off-Road Challenge eclipsed previous numbers with more than 10,000 spectators and 180 teams racing. Their efforts combined to raise $120,000 for the Cedar Sinai Women’s Breast Cancer Research Center.

The Cedar Sinai’s Breast Cancer Research Center reports that breast cancer is the most common form of cancer among women in the United States. It is second only to lung cancer in cancer-related deaths, and it is estimated that more than 180,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. For the 2010 event, the Powder Puff Off-Road Challenge is working to raise over $150,000 to continue research efforts.
