Vaughn Gittin Jr. Slides into Carlisle Performance & Style

2011 Formula Drift Champion to Appear and Perform

CARLISLE, PA – 2010 Formula Drift Champion and Maryland native Vaughn Gittin Jr. will slide sideways a time or two at Carlisle Performance & Style on Saturday, May 14. The event itself is held May 14 and 15 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds.

Gittin will make his inaugural trip to Carlisle for foot-to-the-floor, big smoke and rubber-burning drifting action. As part of the 16th edition of Performance & Style, Gittin will be conducting two drift demonstrations on the Carlisle track as well as signing autographs. Gittin will also host a unique Q&A session on the Manufacturers Midway on Saturday.

In addition to the drift demonstrations, five lucky ride-along give-away winners will climb into the RTR 2011 Ford Mustang and ride side-by-side with Vaughn as he does what he does best: Drift!  One of the ride-along winners will be chosen at the show, through a silent auction with the proceeds going to the Japan earthquake and tsunami relief fund.

Gittin, who was recently featured in the April 7 edition of USA Today as well as on MTV’s Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory, is the only American to ever win a Division 1 Grand Prix event, not once – but twice. He has achieved three wins and multiple podiums throughout his Formula Drift career.

Carlisle Performance & Style is more than a car show; P&S is a motorsports and lifestyle festival celebrating the hottest trends in the motorsports world. In addition to special guest Vaughn Gittin Jr., Performance & Style 2011 will include: Best-of-Carlisle and Carlisle Elite top-flight cash prizes; legendary motorcycle stunt team, the StarBoyz; a parked-by-class judged showfield; Modern Muscle Nationals, remote control drifting competitions, a Euro/Stance indoor invitational display presented by Low Life & Junk Style, The ICE House – displaying custom vehicles with a focus on in-car-entertainment, NICOFest autocross racing, the Manufacturers Midway and swap meet vending areas, and the famous Carlisle Burnout and Bikini contests.
