Perfecting quality and performance of vehicle parts – atom by atom
Sometimes the tiniest of changes can make a very big difference. Nobody knows that better than Ford's "Atoms to Engines" team. This groundbreaking group, composed of engineers and scientists, examines the microstructures of materials – sometimes down to their very atoms – before a vehicle is built. Analyzing these properties to determine how they will alter during the manufacturing process can lead to major changes down the road – like lighter, more durable, fuel-efficient construction. Software based on this study of "computational modeling" has been used in the development of more than 15 new engine programs and saved Ford more than $100 million so far. more...

Warriors in Pink makes big screen debut with the movie 'Valentine's Day'
Ford's Warriors in Pink is sure to spark some hope by partnering with the all-star cast of the New Line Cinema film "Valentine's Day" to give the gift of hope in February. Before the movie premieres, fans will have the chance to win an all-expenses-paid getaway to Los Angeles for two, a 2011 Ford Fiesta and tickets to movie screenings at their local theaters. Fans can enter to win through March 31. Cast members of "Valentine's Day" also will model pieces from the Ford Warriors in Pink apparel collection in national print ads. more...

ThyssenKrupp Elevator takes largest fleet of Transit Connects to the streets
If the name ThyssenKrupp is familiar to you, it's probably because you see it on many of the elevators you ride. In addition to being the largest producer of elevators in North America, ThyssenKrupp Elevator, Americas Business Unit, also has the largest fleet of Ford Transit Connects in operation in the country. Why Transit Connect? According to ThyssenKrupp's fleet manager, it's economically priced, more fuel efficient than larger cargo vans, and it has ample payload capacity to accommodate upfitting, driver and equipment.
