Biffle Qualifies Fourth to Lead Blue Oval Crew at Chicago

Greg Biffle qualified in fourth position  while Paul Menard qualified ninth to pace the Ford contingent in preperations for Saturday night’s Lifelock.com 400 at Chicagoland Speedway.

GREG BIFFLE, No. 16 3M Ford Fusion (Qualified 4th) – ON HIS QUALIFYING RUN  “I feel really good about that lap. I don’t think it will hold up for the pole since the track is cooling off and getting better grip, but I’m really happy about where we are for tomorrow night. We have a little different geometry on the car this weekend and tweaked some things that have worked so far. We have a fast car, a car I think I can win with and hopefully we can get Ford into Victory circle.”

ELLIOTT SADLER, No. 19 Stanley Ford Fusion (Qualified 16th) – ON HIS QUALIFYING RUN
“I’m really happy with it. Going out early is probably going to hurt us but I’m really proud of my guys. They gave me a really comfortable car. I take a little blame for losing some time between three and four. I might have messed up a little bit there but I’ll still take it.”

WHERE IS YOUR CONFIDENCE LEVEL AT FOR TOMORROW NIGHT?
“I feel confident heading into the race. I feel we will be good. The car was really comfortable today and I think we will be able to race really hard.”

CARL EDWARDS, No. 99 Aflac Ford Fusion (Qualified 11th)-   ON HIS QUALIFYING RUN
“We didn’t qualify as well as we really wanted to right there. The great thing is though that our practice went so well. In race trim, we were faster than we have been in a year. I can’t wait to race this thing.”

DO YOU FEEL A DIFFERENT LEVEL OF CONFIDENCE BECAUSE OF THAT?
“It feels hugely different. I plan on doing some good things tomorrow night.”

AJ ALLMENDINGER, No. 43 Best Buy Ford Fusion (Qualified 13th) – ON HIS QUALIFYING RUN
“I am happy about the car there, but I am frustrated that they lap wasn’t any faster. It felt like it would be faster. I was waiting for them to say how great a lap it was. The car is good though and I am looking forward to tomorrow. I am just a little frustrated because I thought we were going to throw a better number up.”

KASEY KAHNE, No. 9 Budweiser Ford Fusion (Qualified  12th)
– ON HIS QUALIFYING RUN  “It felt good in one and two but felt like I didn’t get to three and four very good. I was sliding the front. I feel better in race trim and hopefully that will be a good sign for tomorrow.”

DAVID RAGAN, No. 6 UPS Ford Fusion (Qualified 26th)  ON HIS QUALIFYING RUN
– “It was really good. I don’t think I had the speed coming to the line that I needed though. If you look on the lap-tracker I maintained about where we were at when we took the green.  I think our lap was okay, it just didn’t have the speed we needed. It was a pick-up from practice and our race car is really good. Our car is fast and I am really happy with it in race trim. I feel like we have a top-10 type of car for tomorrow night.”

TRAVIS KVAPIL, No. 38 Long John Silver’s Ford Fusion (Qualified  40th) –   ON HIS QUALIFYING RUN
“We knew it was going to be close. We had good pick-up from practice. We made a few adjustments to get the car turning a little bit better after practice. We were a little on the free side there, which I would rather be than tight. We knew we would be on the border of making it or going home. I think the guys did a good job with the car and I don’t think I could have drove it any different, so you just let the chips fall where they may.”
