Dallas, Jan. 26, 2006 - From the ranch to the city, Ford F-Series pickup trucks remain kings of Texas . The Texas Auto Writers’ Association (TAWA) recently named the 2006 F-Series Super Duty "Truck of Texas." This makes the third consecutive year that F-Series has been named the "Truck of Texas," a feat unmatched by any other manufacturer.
In addition to winning the coveted "Truck of Texas" award, Ford also was named the "Truck Line of Texas" for the seventh consecutive year. The Ford F-150, winner of the "Truck of Texas" award in 2003 and 2004, added TAWA's 2005 "Best Full Size Pickup Truck" award to more than 40 other coveted automotive awards, further cementing its position as the "Most Awarded Pickup Truck" in automotive history.
"Those awards are strong endorsements for F-Series," said Mark Grueber, Brand Manager for the Texas region. "The awards reflect the expert opinion from the specialized press as well as our loyal Texas customers." The F-Series leadership has a long history in the Lone Star State . S ince its introduction in 1948, the F-Series has set the truck standard; including the Super Duty, which redefined the heavy duty pickup market; the availability of the Tow Command System, which includes a class-exclusive trailer brake controller; and the current F-150's capability and luxurious interior.
