AZUSA, CALIF. - Gale Banks, president and founder of Gale Banks Engineering, will make his first start in the legendary SCORE Baja 1000 Race, running November 17 - 20. Banks will join Team Donahoe - 2004 Baja 1000 Class Champions - in running the first leg of the race. Start time for Team Donahoe and Banks is November 18, 2005 at 9:26 am Pacific in Ensenada, Mexico.
Banks, who has competed in many forms of racing, but never in the Baja 1000, will start the race behind the wheel of Team Donahoe's new Ford Super-Duty. The Ford Super-Duty Race Truck is powered by a 6.0-liter Power Stroke turbodiesel featuring a Banks Big Hoss Bundle for an additional 138 horsepower and 231 lb.-ft. of torque. Banks' will team with Steve Kreiger, who will take over after Banks; Bill Donahoe, who is coming out of retirement; and Kreg Donahoe, who will drive the last leg of the race. The combination of Banks Power* and Donahoe Racing look to bring home another Class Championship in the Series' most difficult race.
The Banks Big Hoss Bundle is a complete power system that not only adds additional fuel, but additional airflow for complete combustion and the most continuous power available. Every Big Hoss Bundle component was designed to withstand the torture of the Baja 1000. The Big Hoss Bundle includes Banks Six-Gun Diesel Tuner and Speed-Loader upgrade, gigantic Techni-Cooler charge-air cooler and larger 3-1/2" constant-diameter boost tubes. Included is a larger, streamlined, High-Ram air inlet casting and a complete 4-inch stainless steel Monster exhaust with stainless-steel straight-through-design Monster muffler.
