SEMA Action Network Legislative Alert - GA Bill Would Outlaw Nitrous Oxide Use
(This article posted on behalf of SEMA Action Network Legislative Alert)
A bill (H.B. 1183) has been introduced in the Georgia House of
Representatives that would prohibit public road use of a passenger car or
pickup truck "which supplies or is specially equipped to supply the motor
vehicle's combustion engine with nitrous oxide as a fuel additive." The
bill has been referred to the Georgia House Motor Vehicles Committee. A
hearing on this bill is expected in the near future.

H.B. 1183 would outlaw vehicles merely equipped with nitrous oxide delivery
systems, regardless of whether they're being used or not.
H.B. 1183 ignores the fact that nitrous oxide can make maneuvers such as
passing, going uphill or merging onto a highway safer for vehicles with slow
acceleration.
