Love at First Sight

We look at hundreds of classic Ford trucks a week, but only a select few really get our motors running. Typically, these special pickups and SUVs come from the '70s and are either original or mildly modified. This stunning '79 Ford Bronco we found over at Mecum Auctions falls in the latter category, but we're betting that even the staunchest of mod haters will fall in love with it just as quickly as we did.

Perfect Contrast

For starters, this fine example of (what some would argue is the greatest) Bronco ever built sports a flawless body coated in a very attractive light blue paint. The white removable top offers up the perfect contrast, as do those classy chrome wheels and the not too big, not too small tire combination.

Covet-worthy Cabin

Things don't get any worse when you open the door and step inside a beautiful cabin covered in tan vinyl and matching blue paint. Everything here is simply perfect, with nary a bone to pick in terms of condition or color choice.

Mix of Old and New

Most of what you'll find on the inside is original, which is just fine with us. The original gauges and factory air remain in place, but the cabin is enhanced by a more modern radio and Bosch tachometer.

Rolling Deep

The same goes for the outside, which is largely original but features a few nice additions here and there. Mostly in terms of rolling stock, which has been upgraded to 17" polished Mickey Thompson wheels wrapped in matching Mickey Thompson 35X12.50 R17 off-road tires.

Enduring Style

Other than that, the exterior of this beautiful Bronco looks mostly like it just rolled off the assembly line at a late '70s Ford manufacturing plant. And there's certainly nothing wrong with that, because this style hasn't gotten long in the tooth decades after it debuted!

Nicely Optioned

Pop the hood, and you'll find a super clean 351, which is backed up by an automatic transmission for easy cruising. There are plenty of other nice options on this Bronco as well, including power steering and disc brakes.

Simply Irresistible

The classic Bronco even sports factory tinted Carlite glass, a welcome addition in the warmer months. And trust us, you're going to want to drive this thing a lot when the weather's fair, even if you can't resist removing the top first.

Perfect Bronco?

Overall, we couldn't find a single bone to pick with this gorgeous classic Bronco. It has everything you'd ever want in a big, classic ride without going over the top or detracting from the magic Ford baked into this two-year model run. In our minds, it's simply the perfect Bronco, and nothing less!
