Finding Art in Rustic Ford Trucks

Seeing a classic Ford with rust devouring (or maybe overwhelming) the once beautiful paint job is heartbreaking; Seeing it stuck in a ditch and forgotten is almost haunting. But while these old timers are left behind for the environment to devour, there is still something beautiful in the scene, proving that no matter how a Ford truck ages, there will still be something alluring and charming about it.

Take note that while the majority of these are from as far back as the 1920s, there will still be some recent trucks (from the 60s or 80s). Also, not all of them are art-worthy, as some of them might need a little Photoshop to look more pleasing, but they are still worthy of being a wallpaper for your desktop.

Check out the trucks that matured to bring you some joy.

1. Machine vs. Nature

While I believe the artist went a little overboard with Photoshop's blur feature, this is still pleasing to look at. Nature is an unstoppable force, but as seen from the image, the Ford is still fighting for the spotlight. There are seemingly endless amounts of images on the Internet combining old Fords and nature, from those nestled half-way in the snow to others camouflaged against the autumn leaves.

2. Lost in the Rural

Out in the country side and being out of sight, out of mind, these rusted Fords exist in areas that most of us city-folk have never bothered to explore. The emotional feeling of abandonment is the first thing that surfaces when looking at this image, and yet this 1930's Ford pickup is still something to look at.

3. Stuck in the Shop

Not sure if this is a shop or gas station, but one thing is for sure: it looks like it should be out of business (or maybe it is). Of course, the combination of the old rustic building and the rustic Ford makes this image eye candy. So while it seems like this first gen Ford was left behind to fend for itself, you still get an amazing image to enjoy.

4. Dumped in the Old Neighborhood

Much like the Ford before, this 1980's Ford has been placed perfectly in front of an old building. While the caption of this image labels it as a Rusty Ford Truck, it does seem like the Ford is originally that brown color. Whatever the case may be, the color perfectly matches the brick wall of the old school, making this an image worth being a wallpaper. Although, I do wish that there was more of the building shown rather than the ground. C'est la vie!

5. Saw Some Action

This Ford from the 1960s looks like it was in its prime back in the day. It probably picked up a girl or two on its way to a first date. With that fantasy green color, I can't imagine anyone not wanting to be picked up in that. Even now, with rust trying to take hold, it still looks like it has a little more left to give.

6. Out of Place

Seeing how this 1920's Model T flatbed is in a modern day parking lot, it must still have some juice in it. It is worthy of a wallpaper but with a little alteration to the image. It would help if it wasn't in a parking lot, but I guess there is some kind of humor to it. Can you imagine going to the grocery store and parking next to this?

7. Black and White

As this black and white image is a classic, it would be a shame to end this slideshow without adding it. This image being a closeup, you really get to see the environment taking a toll on this old truck. This image, like a few of the others on this list, was made for art's sake. It really focuses on the truck rather than the environment, yet the dead branches still add a little something extra.
