1. Ford becomes the official truck of the NFL

2016 saw two icons of Americana, Ford and the NFL, come together for a three year partnership with Ford becoming the official truck of the NFL.  The deal is obviously a huge boost for Ford, but it is more than a marketing opportunity. Ford is delivering with tailgate experiences for fans at NFL games, and is offering a 15% discount at NFLShop.com for employees.  The partnership is a match made in heaven, and it's great news for fans of Ford trucks and professional football.

2. Ford builds Dallas Cowboys edition F-150

The Dallas Cowboys, otherwise known as "America's Team," is an NFL squad that people either love or hate.  But the team's popularity can't be denied, and hardcore Texas area fans can now buy a Cowboys edition F-150 to show off their team pride.  400 of the trucks will be built, featuring Cowboys silver paint, center caps, special badging, embroidered floor mats, and a star logo in the bed.  It's the ultimate truck for fans of both Ford and the most valuable franchise in the NFL.

3. Ford and Uber team up for tailgating experience

What if you love tailgating, but don't own a vehicle with which to tailgate?  Ford and Uber have teamed up to solve that problem by offering a special fleet of F-250's you can order up just for some pregame fun.  This unique offering is available initially in New York City, but will be expanded to other cities throughout the season.  The trucks come preloaded with all kinds of good food and merchandise, and are ordered through the Uber app.  It's easily one of the coolest promotions ever, and a nice perk for lovers of the pigskin.

4 Ford recognizes the unsung heroes of football

Offensive linemen are often the unsung heroes of a football team.  They do the dirty work in the trenches of games, yet don't put up flashy stats or catch touchdowns.  To help acknowledge these workhorses of the NFL, Ford is recognizing them with an "Offensive Line of the Week" award.  The award is given to an entire team's offensive line, not just one player, in an effort to thank the guys that make all those touchdowns possible.

5. Ford teams up with the Pro Football Hall of Fame

Ford has been a partner with the Pro Football Hall of Fame for years now.  They present the Hometown Hall of Famers program, which honors players in hometowns and local communities.  Players are able to present their high school with a bronze plaque, and the school is recognized in the Hall of Fame forever.  Ford also presents the Fan Vote, where fans can help narrow down the selection process for players who are eligible for the Hall of Fame.
