1. Longest Lasting Ford Trucks

Automotive research firm iSeeCars.com has twice collected data to determine the longest lasting vehicles on the road today. A sample of 12 million vehicles, built after 1981, is used to find the vehicle makes and models that have the highest percentage with over 200,000 miles. Trucks and SUVs dominated the results in both instances, with Ford taking home the top spot as well as three other showings in the top 20.

2. F-150

The F-150 is the best selling truck and best selling vehicle in America, so the fact that it makes the cut as one of the longest lasting vehicles on the road is even more impressive. The method used in this study favors trucks that don't sell in massive numbers, which is a testament to the F-150's dependability. Still, Ford's cash cow finished 18th with a total of 1.4% of the sample trucks exceeding 200,000 miles.

3. Explorer

Like the F-150, the Explorer is the best-selling vehicle in its segment, which places it at a bit of a disadvantage in iSeeCars' rankings. But the mid-size SUV still managed to tie the F-150 with 1.4% topping 200,000 miles. And interestingly enough, there were zero SUVs on the list from luxury manufacturers such as BMW, Lexus, or Mercedes.

4. Expedition

Amazingly, the Ford Expedition ranks as the 4th longest lasting vehicle on the road. Not just for SUV's, but for all vehicles. Clearly, Expedition owners aren't afraid to rack up serious miles on their full-size family haulers. A whopping 5.0% of the Expeditions included in the study have over 200,000 miles on them, which also places it just behind the Toyota 4Runner (5.2%) as the longest lasting SUV on the road.

5. F-250 Super Duty

If you want a truck (or any kind of vehicle) that will go the distance, look no further than the F-250. Ford's Super Duty pickup ranks as the longest lasting vehicle on the road, with an impressive 6.0% of them cresting the 200,000-mile mark. The F-250 also topped iSeeCars' list in 2014 at 4.2%. Heavy duty trucks like the F-250 tend to get used and driven more than your average commuter, logging up to 33% more miles, according to iSeeCars. But the F-250 is the only heavy-duty pickup in the top 20, making it the clear cut choice for those who must rely on their truck every single day.
