5 Ford Pickups That Never Made the Trip to America

Although Ford is an American company, here are five Ford pickups that were sold in places around the world, but never in the USA.

1. Ford Falcon

In the 1950s, Australia started selling their first Ford sedan-pickup, also known as the Falcon. In the 1970s, the Falcon adopted a V8-engine, making it go from a safe pickup, to a vicious machine. The most recent Falcons come equipped with a turbocharged 4.0-liter engine, which connects to a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. If you want to combine the raw power of Ford with the benefits of having a truck bed, this would make a great car for you, unless you live in the USA.

2. Ford 3000 Leisure Bakkie

Based on the European Ford Escort and Ford Cortina, Ford built the Leisure Bakkie to be sold in South Africa. These cars didn't exist outside of Australia, South Africa, and a few South-American countries. This car featured a 3.0-liter engine, 1-ton payload, and some may even say it was good-looking. If you are actually interested in owning one of these, you can import them to the USA now.

3. Ford Pampa

If you've been a consistent visitor of South-America, you may have seen the Ford Pampa around. The Pampa has been on the streets of South-America since 1982, and it was built in Brazil. There were two engines for the Ford Pampa, a 1.6-liter engine, and a 1.8-liter one. The question is, can you import this to the USA? Yes, you can, but do you want to? This is a small, cheap, and un-powerful version of the Ford Ranger, no one will be impressed by the Pampa in the USA.

4. Ford KA

You may find this Ford on the streets of Poland, the Ford KA has been in production from 1996 until this very day. The KA isn't exclusive to Poland, however, you may also find it in Brazil, India, Mexico, South Africa, Argentina, and Europe. You probably won't find this in the USA, and for good reasons, America doesn't like ugly pickups with weak engines.

5. Ford F-4000

Unlike the Ford KA, the Ford F-4000 is an absolute beast. This is a six-ton truck, built in Brazil, and features a variety of Diesel engines. There is a V4-Diesel engine offered with this massive truck, as well as a Triton V8-engine option. If you're a fan of the bigger F-series', owning one of these will satisfy all of your pickup truck needs, and more.
