Remove the large spring and set aside the punch is pointing out the horn contact brush. Remove the horn contact brush and using a pair of pliers pull out the plastic insulator. You may have to twist it a little to get it to remove. Remember it's been in there since assembled in 1962,61, 63.

Turn the horn ring over, now if you just have the horn button do the same thing to release the button as the ring assembly. The white plastic horn retainer plate is what you will have to replace because the tabs break with age. Remove the three screws.

Insert the plastic horn retainer ring and install the three small screws. I mention small screw because they don't need to be tightened to german specs. (gudentight) snug them down. We're talking inch pounds not foot pounds.

put the horn contact brush with plastic insulator back in it hole. Alppy pressure to the insulator to seat, being careful not to damage the brush. Place the big spring back in the cneter of the steering wheel

Take your assembled horn ring or button center it over the center of the steering wheel at the seven or eoght oclock position and press down and turn clockwise. If done correctly it should lock into the steering wheel plate.

You have now completed the assembly. Reconnect battery or horn relay and test the horn to make sure it works.
