Hellwig Helper Springs/Add-a-leaf

Are Hellwig Pro-Load helper springs good?
Which should I get, the progressive or constant rate springs?

One side of my E-150 is leaning, so I'm getting a new leaf spring from JC Whitney to replace the malfunctioning spring. I'm then getting helper springs, but I want something that will give me a slightly stiffer ride but has to be HD enough to help carry cargo.

Question hellwig helper springs? sagging on rear leaf?

the rear end of my 1998 low top conv e150 seems to sag. I like the ride but came across this option and wondered if someone has added hellwig helper springs.. I had planned on adding a leaf to the rear springs but this may be easier way to go. Will this raise the rear end ? what does it do to the ride?

I put a set of Helwig EZ990 springs on my F150 and I thought they did a great job, they definitely improved stability and load carrying capacity but didn't affect unloaded ride.

Uh, this will aid in stopping sway, but will NOT correct a worn leaf pack, you need to replace the rear pair of leaves, not just one side, they are worn, a spring shop could do it, if you are lucky enough to have one. I have this issue on my 73, my wheelchair lift sped it on it's way after just one year, the van was 40 years old tho, I am rebuilding both packs.

Ordered Hellwig helper springs over 30 days ago. HELLwig.. had told me on several occasions that they would be shipping them that week. Long story, I am concealing the order and looking for something else. HELLwig has been Hell to work with. In my opinion I would/will never order another HELLwig product.

I bought a set of add-a-leaf helper springs at Autozone. It was several years ago and I don't know that they are still available or not. They worked great on my '96 E150 Clubwagon.

Yes. Slightly.

I used my van to tow and put a lot of equipment in the back. I was looking at a way to reduce the squat from the load. It worked very well. Ride was good also.

I also fitted a Helwig front swaybar along with the rear springs. The combination made the van ride and handle much better.

Add a leaf model number

Thanx I will probaby go that route. Any model number / brand you might have would help me decide what to buy.

Sorry, but its been years since I did this. Bought the ban in '96 and did the upgrade within the year. Any similar should work well. Also, a shock upgrade works well on these vans.
