c-6/ disc swap guidence please

Well its been a while since i posted here because i blew reverse in my 65 w/cruise o matic. So I've been searching for a donor truck to get the parts i need to do the swap, there just not out there like they used to be! yesterday i picked up a 73 frame section with everything i need (hopefully). The guy I got it from builds and parts out dent sides, mostly 4x4, so he had no prob making sure I had everything for a 2wd
Most everything should be pretty straight forward, but a couple things I wondered about,
shifter linkage woes? or will the 73 work
speedo cable compatibility
driveshaft, donor truck was a 2 pc shaft W/carrier, mine is not, I assume I'll have to build a drive shaft instead finding a factory option. I haven't checked the diameter to see if there the same yet, hopefully they are
I realize this has been done a million times but I'm sure there is going to be some sort of issue that I'm not thinking about, always is right?!

thanks in advance Wc
Oh yea, its got power steering to that will be going on as well when I do the brake swap, but for now i just need to get her back on the road! Spring is here!

WC, The shift pattern is a bit different, and the column a bit shorter because of changes in the Saginaw gear, so a complete column swap is best. I hang tight with buy the donor, swap all in, then down the road you aint gotta be scratching your head wondering do I need 66 or 73 parts here. I knew because of upgrades to the rear brakes that about everything below the chassis was 76 for my truck.

As U can see bookmarked a thread on the topic from several years ago. I never got around to making the swap while the trans sets and collects rust, not sure if relevant as an option for a current application; anyhow, perhaps may find helpful?
