New owner-'02 Ltd V10

So if you saw my other thread about gear ratios and an Excursion that i was supposed to go buy today....that deal didn't happen because of miscommunication as to where the truck was actually located. It was 150 miles further than the city in which the ad was listed.

The problem was my friend didn't have the extra 5 hrs of travel time to make it back home for family duty, and I couldn't find anybody that was able or willing to drive 15-16 hrs roundtrip at a minutes notice.

If anybody is interested in that southern truck, rust free, with 4.30 gears in Nashville TN, check it out or PM me.

So a few hours ago, i was going for a ride on the harley with my girl, and we saw a white ex sitting in a small car lot that I am familiar with. The owner only buys vehicles from a particular dealership that are new car trade ins.
He sells quality vehicles at good prices and many are one-owner.

So i make a 'u'-ey, and go back. He was with a customer, they close at 3 today and now it's 5:30 pm...I asked him how much, i said i want it, im going to get the cash.

2002 Limited, V-10, 191k miles, 4x4 - $5800
One owner- pages of carfax maintenance records from FORD dealer.
-everything motorcraft...shocks, battery, etc...
Michelin LTX tires about 85%.
Carpet, dash, interior trim is in great shape. Seats show some wear but not a priority at this time. Truck will just sit except for once a week maybe just to keep the juices flowing.
No leaks whatsoever anywhere.
Some rocker rust but not terrible.
I saw 1 manifold bolt broke off...but no exhaust leak.
All controls, gauges, buttons, switches work.
Built in TV's in the headrests (don't really care about, no kid hauling here)
DVD and a vcr under the middle set of seats.

Now i need a white enlcosed trailer to match.

Looks good, what gears does it have?
I was just in Nashville all last week, I could have checked that EX out for you, where are located, it was a 15 tow for us to to/from Nashville.

It has the 3.73 gears. I wanted the 4.30's, but i will only be towing 2500-4000 lbs over the next several years.

The truck that i was gonna buy was 150 miles southwest of Nashville. It was closer to Memphis and Arkansas than it was Nashville.

I just finished reading the 6 page, carfax report for the 02 I bought. There was a service entry every 3-5k miles for routine maintenance, all done by the same Ford dealership that the original owner bought it from over the past 15 yrs.

There are entries for a light bulb replaced, interior armrest replaced, headlamp replaced, etc....Whatever issue arose, the owner took it to the dealer...even to change a bulb. I guess service records can't get much better than this.

Immaculate considering it's age or immaculate considering the miles?

Welcome to the Ex forum but hardly an appropriate description of condition.

Looks great. I think you got a great deal if you can fix the exhaust bolt issues yourself. Seats are easy fix. Auto Upholstery | Leather Seat Covers | Foam Cushions | Home page

Thanks all.

I wonder if i said the interior was immaculte except for the below average amount of wear on the front seats, if that would have been acceptable in mecdacs' view?

There's not a single stain, blemish anywhere on the carpet/dash. Even the steering wheel is nice compared to all the deteriorating ones i've seen.

What sold me was it being a 1 owner and the Carfax/dealer maintained report.
This thing was taken care of.

If I were to replace the exhaust manifolds, i need to look into a set of headers and exhaust and whatever else is needed to compliment an exhaust upgrade.

I addressed my two broken exhaust studs by installing Banks headers with included Y pipe and an Aeroturbine 3030 XL performance muffler. The cat and balance of exhaust is still all stock 3" and I'm very happy with the results.

Not my view, not an opinion just a definition.

immaculate
[ih-mak-yuh-lit]
adjective
1. free from spot or stain; spotlessly clean:
immaculate linen.
2. free from moral blemish or impurity; pure; undefiled.
3. free from fault or flaw; free from errors:
an immaculate text.
4. Biology. having no spots or colored marks; unicolor.

I'm glad you are excited about your truck but it's not Mint, Mint, Mint.

Good luck with your V10.

Dude, are being serious? Would you mind trolling elsewhere? Your post count would suggest that you are good at it.

Here's what I'll be towing, with 3 racebikes and 1 Harley on occassion.
2017 7x16 v-nose

I also saw that the OEM hitch is only rated for 5000 lbs?! So since I have an 07 E250 extended/hi-top van that has an Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Class V hitch that
I put on a few years ago, i thought I'd see if part numbers cross between the van and the EX...and they do....same part #.

That'll save me a few bucks. Brake controller in the EX is next...then rims/tires...then Pro Comp +2" front springs....then....etc.....

Duurrrr, the "5000 lb rating" is on the bumper not the actual hitch attached to the frame, IIRC.
