wheel and tire size for fatman ifs

Having a fatman stage II ifs installed on my 68 F100 and wondered what are the preferred wheel and tire ? sizes for the truck once its lowered. Had thoughts about 17s or 18s. Any opinions on backspace ?
Thanks.

Preferred by whom?

Btw, Fatman Fab has a blue F-100 test mule. Why not contact them and ask? They're the ones who sold you their parts so they should know about wheel and tire sizing, and backspace, right?

Excuse me. Instead of "preferred", I guess I should have said "suitable ".
Thanks for the help.

I have not had good luck using someone elses BS measurments. For what you spent on that IFS I would suggest you get it set at ride hieght with the brakes and tire size you wish to use and measure yourself. That way you can test clearance and stance prior to ordering expensive wheels. HIO was just suggesting you start with the manufacture who should have no problem giving you a good conservitive starting point.

I used a measuring tool to mount a tire for mine like this.

I have a Mii up front. I have 20x8 with, I think, 4.5 inch back space. I will have to find my paperwork. 235/55/20 tire which is about 30 inches tall I recommend you roll the fender lips if you plan on running a wide tire in front. Especially if you plan on using dropped spindles. Backspace is very importand if you are going to run a Mii because it gets the truck really low. I would try and get the wheels as centered (neutral) in the wheel well as possible or you will have rubbing problems.
