Fuel gauge wiring
#2
gas gauge
One side should be ign power, key on key off. The other to the sending unit. You can bench test the gauge but you have to ground the gauge unit.float all the way up & you need a battery, touching the power to the battery will tell right or wrong, if wrong switch the two wires on the back of the gauge. Hope this helps

Fuel gauge wiring

Since all of the old wires are missing I would suspect the gauge post with two wires is the post/connection where the power from the ingintion switch was wired. The power/battery to all the gauges except the amp meter are looped from one to the other. Usually done with a strap or metal connector. Could also be done using wire.
The opposite post/connector would be for the wire to the gas tank sender unit
Hoe this helps,
Tom
