if you have a oil pan gasket, that's your issue, RTV only.
also oil can leak through the keyway on the crank snout.
if it was the balancer seal, it would sling oil all over the place.

there is oil on top of the balancer too so i think is coming from the balancer seal and goes all over around.

going to clean up good, let id idld and watch where it comes from.

It could be leaking at the fuel pump to block gasket as well. That one is quick and easy to clean up and reseal. Regardless of whether you suspect the front leak is the oil pan or fornt seal, the front cover must be removed so if the leak is bad enough to warrant fixing, just pull the cover and do the front seal and reseal the cover.

thanks cadunkle,

for now i torqued to speco the fuel pump bolts and one of the water pump bolts that was leaking as well.

looks like it doesn't leak oil anymore. i'll keep an eye on the front crank seal.

i didn't know bolts could get loose like that.
