Most coveted Fords?
As someone who loves the old Fords, and had one of the most beautiful trucks ever until Ohio's salt killed her, I have often wondered what Ford trucks are the "most" coveted?
My son keeps telling me I should get rid of Fi-Fi, pictured below in 1992, and get a new truck. He buys a new $50,000 Ford every two years. He has no clue what it means to own a classic and we often disagree on the value of keeping my truck. As a result, I challenged him to investigate the most coveted classic Ford trucks because I have been told that the 79 F150 4X4 is considered rare and coveted.
I'm curious what you think are the top five collected Ford trucks?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder....
and just how far are you willing to go to get your dream truck??
meaning what do you covet? it will be different from myself and others...
IMHO to me a bicentennial would be worth more then an Indy pace...or a freewheeling package....
truthfully one that was purchased new, never drove, stored indoors serial # 000001 and never registered would be a dream truck....
as far as your son, the day will come when he will regret not having his fathers truck....
I have mine already and it was my dads

78-79 F250 CCSB in XLT Trim, AC and no rust
78-79 F250/350 SCLB Lariat
79 F350 Lariat
78-79 F250 Snofighter Lariat
76-75 F150 Short bed
Pretty much in the above order.
The only really "Rare" truck out of the above would be an Crew Cab in XLT trim A/C etc.
None of these trucks are rare by definition just harder to find in great condition.

Most coveted...the ones that WE ALL own and have spent countless house of time, hard earned money and personal sacrifice (some times daily) to fix, restore, overhaul, repair, work on, keep running or to start to just get us home from work. Have received a bloody knuckle from on more that one occasion. Even shed a tear when they get hurt. I almost had a heart attack when the wife sent me that pic of the carport on ol silver, it almost got ol blue too.
Yes EB's count too! Yes ol red ain't pretty, but she's a real go getter.

I guess...
I guess rare is relative...
Have personally owned 4 out of the five trucks on that list and have seen literally dozens of examples of each in the last year, and hundreds in the last decade. Ford made a huge number of these things so its really hard to call any particular model rare unless you start factoring in specific options. There is also a big difference between rare and desirable.
