Front license plate.

I live in Oregon and I don't want to buy the "bracket" for my front license plate. Do any of y'all roll around without the front license plate? Post some pics. I think the rig looks slick. I have a 2004 f350 6.0 by the way.

Not sure about the laws in Oregon. Down here in Cali, it is illegal to run without front plate. Check with your local Oregon FTE chapter. They'll know if your good to go without the front plate.

Ha, look what I found. https://www.cars.com/articles/2013/1...icense-plates/
I suppose it's up to you, if you want to deal with local PD.

Yep, illegal to run without a front plate, although I see it all the time.

Same up here Washington State requires a front plate.
For that matter it also a no no to have it covered with the covers.
But you never see anyone get tagged for it.

Illegal here in Ohio. Been running without one for close to 10 years. No problems so far

Have to have the front one in VA too. I broke the pins off when I put the light bar in between the fog lights and just never got around to putting it back on....until yesterday so about a year. Got stopped by the man for it, told him why it wasn't on that I was basically too lazy to put it back on and showed it to him(still had it in the back floorboard). He let me go cause I had it and told him I'd put it on when I got home.

Basically the same thing with my old 97. Except the cop was searching the truck when he found the front plate behind the back seat. Guess it does looks suspicious along with why he was searching the truck in the first place(remember kids don't be young and dumb and have an air-soft battle in the micky d's parking lot with your friends cause you're bored). But when you have your front tag behind the seat and another set of tags that you haven't turned in yet and also a set from a buddy who just sold his car. But in my defense in that one, the truck didn't come with a tag bracket when I bought it two years prior.

But I know people who have never run the front tag(still got it in the bag no stickers) and have never been bothered.

The hillbillies that put the plow on my truck with this welded up mess before I owned it decided the front bumper was unnecessary. It's illegal here in Illinois. Bought the truck in 14' & never have had a run in with barney fife but I've only put about 1k miles on it since purchase.

No plate here, but it is not legal where I live.

Sooooooo, keep in mind that day when you stop for a beer after work and jump in to drive home after one or two and there is a trainee being told to stop anything that moves...........Might be doing some field sobriety tests because of a missing front plate.

I'll take the 5th on answering that Q (see avatar). It is theoretically possible that 3 of my vehicles had their front plates fall off.

Here are other CA laws that I don't see people getting pulled over for:
Dark tinted front windows
Loud Exhaust
Tires outside of wheel wells
Talking or Texting while driving
Driving with wipers on but not headlights on
Not having a front bumper
having a cracked windshield
Towing a trailer that is a) over their license weight limit, b) Over the truck's
Having brighter than DOT approved head lights, including floods/fogs, etc.
Rear flood light(s) independantly operated from being in Reverse
having a red or blue colored bug deflector
Visible emissions (burning oil, rolling coal, etc.)
Missing or burnt out headlight or tail light(s)
No trailer lights
No trailer safety chains
No brakes/lights on TOAD (flat towed) vehicle

These are just off the top of my head. I think the front plate is way down on the list, unless they just want a reason to pull you over...

How about things hanging from the rear view mirror?

I won't keep the pic in my quote

Yup, fuzzy dice and.... uh, stuff like that
Also no suction cup -anything- to the front window

Usmc6.0: you might want to check around in OR, but I think it is just a "fix-it" ticket down here: minimal to no penalty, just show that it is fixed...
