69 F-250 Camper Special update.

I guess I should post some pictures now that my winter project is into phase two which is the interior and body. I have been through the wringer with this rebuild. Brakes all new front to back including all hoses, master cylinder, drums, rotors, wheel cylinders, caliper rebuild etc.
The engine is a stock rebuild but I had to do a lot of machine work and all new pistons, replaced valve seats etc. Tires aren't cheap for these either. Thank goodness the suspension was all in good shape due to 67,000 original miles. I replaced the shocks but the originals had almost no reduction in dampening force.
The fuel system took a lot of money and a lot of time. I replaced both fuel tanks with new ones, senders, lines, tank valve etc.
The factory radio was missing from sitting beside a business for 10 years it got vandalized for parts. Locating and replacing one is an adventure in itself with the brackets etc.
The camper special side marker lights were shot and I found new ones on E-bay and as usual I had to pay through the nose for them. Hopefully the pictures will tell the rest of the story.

Your engine and the engine compartment look very nice and clean. Nice looking all the way around, good job.

Nice looking truck! Very nice. You gonna paint it?

Mine has the same fabric on the seat, I think. A kind of woven vinyl. Very durable stuff. The solid panels all got hard and cracked, but the woven material is still soft and intact.

Thanks for the compliments, Yeah the brake booster sticks out to me like a sore thumb. I will take it off and sandblast it and repaint it. I have the carpet and the seat upholstery for it and just need to install them. There is one dent in this truck and it is or was on the left lower side. You can see it in the pics. I have a guy that I'm trading some parts to for his expertise in repairing the dent. It was much worse but he straightened most of it out this last week. He is coming back to finish it this Wednesday. I like the old look of the truck so we'll see if it gets painted or not. It's kind of like gray whiskers, you have to earn them over time.
I must say, this truck drives like new and the p.s. works with one finger! After I get the interior and the dent taken care of I might list it for sale as I have a 67 f-100 4x4 awaiting restoration too.

Hmmm. Why does that sound familiar?
BTW, #68 is 4 candlepower.

Yes, these trucks(with p/s) do steer with no effort at all.

Great work so far.

#68 is a double filament bulb, parts catalog calls for a #97 single filament bulb for the marker lamps.

On Glen67's thread, post #1, you will see he mentioned that it takes a 2 contact bulb. #68 is a 2 contact but single filament bulb. I think the #97 that Ford lists is actually for the flat bed front, side, and rear 15442s.

"While I was checking the lights on my F350 Motor home, found that the side lamps on the front fenders were not working, removed the Lens and no bulb. Saw 2 contacts in the socket and "ASSUMED" that a 1157 bulb would work. Nope wont fit. OK next I tried a 1158 center contact bulb OOPS apparently one of the socket contacts is ground and one is hot... "
