1998 e150 quits after 30 mins then starts hours later

Hi, hope someone can help..
1998 e150 quit running at a stop sign the other day. Had a tow home. A few hours later it started and ran for 30 mins and quit again. This weekend I started throwing time and money at it and it still does it. I took off and cleaned the throttle body, replaced the vacuum fuel regulator on the fuel rail, replaced the fuel filter and dropped the tank and put in a new fuel filter.
So it'll start just fine and run like new for about 30 mins then Konkani out. A few hours later fires up as if nothing is wrong. No codes came up either.
Gotta be something common. I don't want to take it to a garage and get charged a grand for something simple.
Thx,
Andy

Hey Andye150, probably the spot to put this is in the 1990's forum section, this one is for 48-56 fat fender trucks. Hope it gets solved for you

No worries Andy, I'm sure that if a couple of the guys on here get a few mins they will gladly add their two cents, unfortunately I don't have huge amounts of knowledge or experience yet so I will leave the advice to come from them

Hi Andy I would check for spark when it quits, sounds like ignition module or dist pickup.

Yup, I know exactly what's wrong. My 96 f150 did the same thing. The coil pack had a crack in it. My mechanic friend figured it out. He turned all the shop lights out and looked for sparks while cranking the motor. That's how he discovered it. Apparently the crack would open up after the engine warmed up and the coil would shoots spark everywhere except to the plugs.
This was happening a lot when it was raining or snowing and the roads were wet.
