I Want to Thank My Agent and All My Fans

I feel like a celebrity around town in my 2017 F350, everywhere I go strangers come up to drool over my truck.

I parked in front of a Red Lobster last night to pick up a to-go order. When I came back outside this guy rushed up saying "Hey man that's a really nice truck you got" I said thanks as I walked past him and he following me to tell me he spent the last 10 minutes checking it out. lol I hit the key fob to unlock it and all the LED lights came on and the poor guy about fainted.

Anyone else seeing this type of reaction from the public?

Is it all you can eat shrimp Fest? Lol. Hey, You are a rock star!

I had 2 dodge boys at a convince store doing a walk around on mine. No conversation however. I keep mine garaged like you would a teenaged daughter..... mine is for RV pulling season, but I'm trying to get a 1000 miles on her prior.

So far, everybody that gets in the passenger seat the first time heads straight to the glove box and opens it up. The I show them that I have two gloveboxes. Ohh-Ahh!

Most impressive to strangers (by far) is the deployable running boards. Always get the "oh wow, that's so cool!"

I've whacked my knee when I was a bit faster stepping close to the cab than the running boards could deploy. That hurts!

I rented a 2017 for a few weeks back in November and even in Smalltown, Texas I got lots of looks and stares.

My truck turns heads, but so far the only "nice truck, man!" comments have been from a framing contractor with an '04 F350 and a Carino's curbside-to-go waiter. All the other comments have been, "somebody has too much money" or the like.

One day we had our truck parked on the street in front of our driveway. I was in my office on the second floor when I notice a man walking down the street so I watch him. As he gets to the cab his head starts turning towards the truck and then back. His head spent a little longer turned when he gets to the 6.7 Diesel emblem. Then when he gets just beyond the front of the truck he turns around and gawks at it.

I've gotten a lot of attention with this truck. One guy was plowing a parking lot with a front-end loader...stops, leans out of the cab, and tells me the styling sucks compared to the previous generation. Thanks, buddy!

But mostly very positive. A lot of people are very complimentary. A lot ask how I like it (I hate it, what do you think!) Many seem unaware the body is aluminum, and many of those that know the body is aluminum think the frame is too.

My previous generation trucks never garnered attention, even my last beautiful King Ranch 6.7L on 35" BFG KO2's. Nobody said anything.

Frankly, its nice when people think you have a nice truck, but I really don't care. Truck people generally notice your ride, but don't say much. Fine with me.

I was "that guy" one day at a local Dick's Sporting Goods. I saw the truck in the lot, then dropped my wife off at Kohl's next door. I drove over and parked my '08 by the black '17, the first '17 I had seen in the wild, and waited for the guy to come out. I probably scared the ***** out of him when I walked up to him, but we chatted for about 15 minutes.

My wife and I test drove a F-350 dual rear wheel with just about every option on it. We went through a neighborhood behind the dealership, and it was a nice day, so many people outside and nearly everyone stared as we drove through, including people driving by. We have since placed an order for a F-450 XLT so not nearly as flashy. On the flip side, I was at one of the local gas stations and a lady pulled up in a 2016 that I thought was a F-450 based on the flare of the front wheel fender but turned out to be a F-350. I watched to see how she maneuvered it, considering we will be driving carefully for a while before we are used the size of the truck. I was going to ask that lady about her truck but I did not get a chance.

F-350's with the flare were equipped with the "Tow Boss" package - including the wide front track and 4.30 gears. A lot of us were wishing for that same option in the 2017 F-350's...but alas, not to be at least for now.

Easy way to ID a 450 is the rims - they have a bunch of smaller holes compared to the 5 larger hand holes the 350's have. 450 rims are larger, have 10 lugs, and simply look better.

Ahah! So my eyes weren't deceiving me. On that note, I brought up Ford's 2016 build page for F-350 dual rear wheel, and when I clicked on 4.30 Limited Slip Rear Axel Ratio, the image changes to a truck with front wheel fenders that are more flared like the F-450. Thanks.
