I Was Cleaning Up The Property Today and Found This ford Tailgate in a Pile of Junk. I Needed a Support Cable replacement for one that had rusted and this had both although the bolt holes and heads were larger than my 86 so I had to Change bolts and cables. Question is ... can anybody tell me what year truck this may be from and if anybody has need of parts off this let me know. Was going to post in the marketplace but I'm not sure what years it is for ...The Tailgate Had the Polished aluminum piece on the outside but Under I Found the FORD Letters. The Last Picture is what is left of the Plastic Insert that went into the Aluminum ... The rest was melted. I Have a few more pictures or can do measurements ect. Sorry I Didn't wash it first ...

 

Looks like a '87-'91 gate.

 

That tailgate came from a 1987 - 1991 XLT Lariat model.

Telltale signs are the handle location (1987 - 1996), "FORD" script style (1987 - 1991), aluminum finish panel (XLT Lariat) and the engineering number (E7 = 1987) stamped on the tailgate.

(I really need to get a life.)
