Im new to Ford Truck Enthusiasts.
I have some question about a truck i recently aquired its a 1994 f350 7.3 idi turbo. The truck will not start when cold or hot it always has to be pull started. Its using a gallon of oil to 150km. It wont do 100km/h and smoke lots of black when trying to do the speed limit. Any ideas what could be wrong with it?

 

needs a leak down test or a compression test.
with that much oil consumption, I would speculate on bad rings.

 

You'd think with that much oil consumption, there would be more blue smoke than anything.

 

Yea i thought there should be a lot of blue smoke using that much oil it smokes blue when its cold but once its warm at idle it clears up. Can smell the oil in the exhaust. Someone told me that it could be bad injectors causong over fueling washing down the cylinders causing the hard starting and oil burning

 

any oil in the coolant?
