Those holes don't look right. They look like a later model 3 point mirror, kinda like this:

They should look more like this:

Mirrors currently installed are aftermarket, are somewhat similar to TYPE 9 (see pic below) first used 1973.

1967/74 Camper Specials came with TYPE 3 as part of the package.

Pictures are from Google.

Your truck doesn't have any holes from previous OEM style mirrors, unless it they were filled years ago or someone put different doors on it from an F100 that had the "car" style mirrors like type 5 from Bills post.

I bet the type 2 or 3 mirror mounting holes are hiding under the top mounts.

TYPE 3 mirrors came with 1967/74 Camper Special package, but since the dealers installed all the outside mirrors, the customers may have wanted another type.

TYPE 3 mirrors stick out well past the cab, so if a Camper was not installed, could be a hazard.

Ya, many guys take the "BIG" camper mirrors off. If you don't really need the full size, maybe a set of Jr west coast(type 2) would be more fitting? They would reuse the top/bottom holes in the door, but don't have the front gusset arm and don't stick out so far. I think they would be far more easy to find then the full size version.

I just saw a post the other day in the 87-95 forums where someone put a set of Jr. west coast on his truck. Didn't really look to out of place.

Well, read this:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...k-mirrors.html

Someone is wanting to get rid of his big mirrors for Jr's. If you really want the big mirrors, contact him?

I just restored my type 2 mirrors. All Stainless so they just needed abrasive polish to get the worst of the 40 plus years of grime off then a fine polish to bring back the shine. The nice thing is you can disassemble the entire mirror and work on individual parts with a bench grinder, buffing pad and compound. Tractor Supply had all the stainless hardware to put them back together.
