Retrax Pro MX Owners - I Need A Favor

Hello Everyone,

Could one of you that have a Retrax Pro MX installed on your truck please measure the clearance between the middle of the bed and the bottom of the Pro MX for me? I need to know if the Pro MX will clear my BD-3 5th wheel hitch. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Eric

These measurements should anewer your question no matter which bed. I hear you can add 1.5 inches to the depth for the 8.

Hello,

Thanks for your response and the photos. I actually need a measurement from the bed to the bottom of the cover itself when the cover is closed.

Thanks,
Eric

Per the Ford specs, the bed depth from the top of the rails to the bed floor is 21.1 inches. Your hitch, the BD3 has a maximum operating height of 18". You should have no problem with clearance from any bed cover. I know of none that intrude 3 inches into the bed.

There is a user here, Bigdon68 (I think), who is running the Retrax Pro along with a TS3. His hitch has a 3" riser, which puts his operating height at 17 inches.

I too will be running the TS3 and based on his experience, should have no problem with the Retrax closing even when the hitch is at full height.

Hope this helps.

No problem. Wish I could give you pics for proof of concept, but still waiting on the truck. Retrax Pro sitting in the shop along with other accessories.

Eric

20.5" (This dimension was taken from the bolt which is roughly the same as the highest ridge point in the bed. If your gear is at 18" then you should be good to go)
