2013 F250 sag

Hey guys I'm new here. I have a 2013 F250 that I bought not too long ago. It has the 6.2 engine and while it's a great truck, anytime I hook to our flatbed or stock trailer, it sags bad. It only has 3 springs and no overloads and was wondering what is the best thing to do to help the suspension out on the truck. The most I pull is about 10 round bales or a trailer with 8 full size cows. That's for any advice!

My last F250 had the factory overloads via the camper package, they helped quite a bit. Other than adding the factory or aftermarket overload springs, I have used timbrens, and have them on my new F250. They replace the factory bump stops with new, larger ones that contact the axle sooner. I like both options as a rather quick and easy fix versus going to some air bag system.

Make sure that you don't have a cracked or bad leaf spring; it is rare that they break, but it can happen. I had one break on a 2006 F350 after about two years if I recall, and I wasn't carrying heavy loads with it.

I think Ford offered 3 different Rear spring packages..

as stated.. the slide-in Camper spring package is the strongest...

my 2012 has it and rear anti-sway bar.
my truck is rated to carry 3,500 pounds.

if still not happy
you can also changed out the 2 inch spacer for spring pack to the F 350 4 inch spacer.

many threads HERE on both subjects.

If you can live with the rake when unloaded swap the F250 rear spring blocks for F350 blocks, that will give you a couple of inches of lift and is a fairly cheap mod. OR you could add a leaf or install the Timbren blocks.

I went with air bags. It makes it easy to adjust the ride quality when not towing plus it did away with sag. I also recommend the on-board air compressor for easy inflation and deflation of the bags.

Ford issued a TSB on the subject that laid out exactly what needed to be done (at the customer's expense) to correct this issue. Unfortunately, if you follow Ford's procedure it will cost you north of $2,000.00 in parts alone!
I chose to go with airbags for a lot less money, but I also tow a greater variety of trailers more often than you indicate. For your purposes, I'd recommend the Timbrens.

Thanks for the ideas. I had been thinking about air bags and now I've been looking at the Timbrens setup. It's sad that a 3/4 pickup squats when I have a round bale of hay in the bed that's 1000 Ibs and the nose is sky high

I have the camper springs .. 800 pound motorcycle and ramp does not do the squat..

but adding the 1,100 pound trailer tongue weight.. its there.

I am thinking the Timbrens are in this future.
