96 F250 AT. Tranny went last year and i had a rebuilt installed. Since then the speedometer is dancing. Is it in the trans?

 

How is the trans functioning?
Speedo signal does not come from the trans in a '96 it is from the rear axle, but if your speedo only bounces at that speed and the trans operates normally then the problem is more likely the speedo itself.

 

My 96 does that as well. I have replaced the speed sensor in the rear, and also the tone ring with no change. It must be in the speedo.

 

Tranny works fine. I guess i'll be looking for a speedo. Makes sense, it was going nuts when the tranny went. Thanks for the help.
