Anyone else seeing better mileage over 5k mikes?

So I was averaging 15.9 mpg, but im now seeing 16.2 (lifetime). Is there some break in period that the computer changes about 5k? I don't think that I'm driving any differently.

Ford says you'll get better mileage around that point. Obviously it varies with how one drives it but a brand new truck is not going to perform as well as one with 5k on the clock. The difference you state seems reasonable for that.

On my third tank of gas. I've already noticed improvements after 1200miles. I'll get 22-24mpg around 65mph. 75mph gets ~20mpg. To be honest i'm thrilled with that

Thats probably up 5%-10% from first couple tanks.

Seems all the Ford diesels tend to get a little looser and mileage improves around 20K miles or so. My two previous seemed to follow the same pattern. But right now I am getting about 15.9 myself.

My 2004, 2008, and 2011 all had no change in mileage from day one. My 2017 is now around 9800 miles and still same mileage. Average of 14.7.

Ya, I did not get it for the milage either, but I just find it odd that it is increasing.

With all the electronics controlling all aspects, I don't see where there is a mileage break in point anymore.
