Decoding the vin on my new 1960 F-100

Hi everyone, I just became the proud owner of my late great-grandfather's 1960 F-100 4X4. This truck was sent "out to pasture" about 25 years ago and I am having some trouble finding out what the truck was like from the factory. I don't currently have the money to restore it because I am a broke college student but would like to restore it one day back to it's original condition. I have the vin information but need someone to help translate it for me.

Thanks for the help Bill. Is there any way of knowing what the original bed was on my truck? Flareside or Styleside? I was told that the original bed was scrapped due to rust damage and was replaced with a homemade wooden flat bed.

Prior to 1967, there's no way to know what "back of cab equipment" (if any) F100/350's came with, because FoMoCo THREW AWAY all the records decades ago.

Welcome and good luck, that is going to need some love and some MONEY, but as an original 4X4, it should be worth the labor.

Is there any way of finding more information about the "back of cab" equipment through the Domestic Special Order Number since it wasn't purchased "off the lot"?

ALL the records were THROWN AWAY by FoMoCo decades ago, so there is no info available.

The majority of the 4x4 trucks I & others have come across have had Styleside Beds.
