Oil Leak on my new Platinum

I just made a 2,000 Mile round trip to South Florida in my new 6.7 Platinum. I stopped about 300 miles short from home and my engine compartment was splattered heavily in oil. I checked and it was almost 3 quarts short. Filled it up and drove the next 300 miles, oil level did not go down. Took to Ford dealer that my buddy is a mechanic at, he checked for oil leak and couldn't find one. Said that he could of missed it to drive it more, but according to him he thinks it came out of the dipstick tube Now I am noticing a small silver dollar puddle under the truck everyday. I'm taking back to dealer, but wondering if any of you have had this issue?

I have had it blow out the transmission dipstick on a vehicle many years ago. Don't remember what they said caused it. Part was changed out easily is all I can remember.

Can't really say, but it could be that the dipstick was not secure and the oil blew out. Years ago working as a pilot I had a mechanic add oil to one of the engines on a plane I was flying. I assumed the mechanic secured the dipstick (my bad!). Shortly after takeoff I saw oil pouring out of the louvers on the top of the left engine cowl. Returned to the airport immediately and discovered the unsecured dipstick. Lost several quarts of oil. Oil dripped out of the engine nacelle until the engine was cleaned. Unless you steam cleaned your engine, the small puddles under your engine could simply be some of the 3 lost quarts of oil that blew out.

I didn't fully seat the dip stick once and ended up with a mess up under the hood. I only did that once and forever more have made sure that dip stick is all the way in.

3 quarts out dipstick I doubt it , unless you're building some major crank case pressure. No way should blow oil like that. My boat motors that are built very loose won't blow oil out dipstick at that rate. I'd check ventilation system. Something not rite if coming out dipstick.

Platinum leaking oil too

Today was the second time I dropped my 2017 F-250 Platinum for an oil leak. The first time I noticed the oil on the paver driveway, took it in and after a week of searching for the cause they told me the oil filter adapter seal was bad. 3 weeks later came out to find new stains on the pavers. Took it back. After getting the dreaded call today service writer wants to pull my motor and find the problem. Not sure what it is. Not looking good at 6k miles.

They can't find the origin of an external leak without pulling the motor??? Hmmmm.....

Yeah, not liking that answer, heading down there tomorrow to see service manager and have the tech explain what's doing. Plus I wouldn't think they don't just pull motor, I would think you have to take cab off to access motor

That's my understanding as well...cab has to come off for a motor pull.

If it's just a small leak, I'd take it to another service department and get a second opinion before they pull the motor. Can't hurt. That just sounds awfully invasive in order to just "find" the leak. Keep us updated on how it goes and good luck!
