Superduty Running gear in an 88

Hey everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if I can swap the running gear from a 2002 F250 7.3L 4X4 superduty to a 1988 F250. Im talking engine diffs and gear box. or is there a dimension spec sheet for the chassis that I can get a hold of ?????? Any help is very appreciated

Cheers Jason

I don't have much for you, but at least I'll bump this back to the top.

I'm sure it's possible to do what you want, but I doubt it's very easy. I'm guessing all of the engine / trans mounts will need to be fabbed. Assuming the '88 is 4WD both trucks are leaf springs, so it shouldn't be too hard to use older F-350 springs (not F-250, they are too stiff for a solid axle). Or you could do a reverse shackle kit on the front and use SuperDuty springs for a better ride. Shock mounts might take some creativity.

Then you'll need to deal with the wiring. I'm guessing the best bet will be to use the computer and engine harness from the '02, but getting it to play nice with the rest of the truck will likely require some effort.

Hopefully someone else will have more detailed info for you.

it can be done, but it is going to take a lot of time and money.
everything has to be changes to bolt it together, then you are going to have to deal with the wiring nightmare trying to fit the complete 02 electrical system including dash into the 88.
to be honest, it really is not worth the effort in my opinion.

99-04 SupidDutys have a wider track for springs so you would need a RSK from either PFM or SKY to mount the front axle.

You would be FAR better off with a 05+ and coil springs. better ride and WAY better turning radius
