Wheels and tire with Pressure Sensor question

I have a 2016 XL that has the 17" steel wheels and I have an opportunity to Buy the 17"aluminum wheels from a guy that took them off his truck to put bigger wheels on. My question is do all Pressure sensors work with all trucks or do I have to have mine removed form my wheels and installed in new wheels? Or will the sensors in new to me wheels work without doing anything like programming them?

Thanks in advance

The old sensors should work with your truck. They are designed to be replaced over time, so no reason to think they won't work. But you will need to train your truck to see them

Does truck automatically look for them or is there something I need to do?

Aren't the sensors built into the valve stems? I would think that the steel wheels would use different valve stems than the aluminum wheels?

I'm not exactly sure where the unit is housed within the tire/wheel assembly. But the system needs to be universal as they are changed throughout the vehicle's life, so it shouldn't matter.

Check the owner's manual for the relearn process

change from 245/70/17 to 265/70/17 gonna be a problem? They are a half inch taller and 3/4 inch wider. Cant imagine that little difference would matter.

Your speedometer may be a bit off with the larger tires, but the truck isn't going to care.

I was more concerned with clearance issues but I went and turns steering Lock to Lock and there is about 2" clearance in both front and back of wheel.
