dana 44 rearend in f-100?
guys i was wondering if Ford used any other rearend in a 1965 f-100 or any 57-72 f-100 truck? the reason i ask is i made a deal to a guy for a 70 f-100 for parts except the rearend was coming back to me, turns out the engine in the truck ran so he wanted to keep it together and offered me a rearend out of a 65-f100 so today i went by and the rearend he was going to give me was a dana 44 that wasn't the one i needed since i actually already had a dana 44 so he is going to pull the one out of the 70. is their any chance ford put a dana 44 in their f-100 trucks or did someone switch it out sometime in the past? personally i have never seen anything but a 9" in a 57-72 f-100 truck but... thanks

Dana 44 rearend in F100.
I was wondering if Ford used any other rearend in a 1965 F100 or any 57-72 F100? The reason I ask is, I made a deal to a guy for a 70 F100 for parts, except the rearend was coming back to me. Turns out the engine in the truck ran, so he wanted to keep it together and offered me a rearend out of a 65 F100.
So today I went by and the rearend he was going to give me was a Dana 44, that wasn't the one I needed, since I actually already had a Dana 44. So he is going to pull the one out of the 70.*
Is there any chance Ford put a Dana 44 in their F100's, or did someone switch it out sometime in the past? Personally, I have never seen anything but a 9" in a 57-72 F100.

1963/66 F100: Dana 60.2 / 1966/67 F100: Dana 60.3. Neither of these is a Dana 60, only installed in F250's.
1968: First year that the 9" installed in F100's was available with Limited Slip.
1961/67 F100's have 11" x 1 3/4" rear brakes / 1968/72 F100's have 11" x 2 1/4" rear brakes, as do all 1973/79 F100's.
*1970 F100 could have a 9" with 28 spline axle shafts, or an optional 9" with a 9 3/8" ring gear, 31 spline axle shafts and 4 pinion Traction-Lok (Limited Slip).
