Air Scoops on 56 Big Jobs

I thought all 56 Big Jobs had the air scoop on the hood? but I've seen a lot of 56 Big Jobs without them. Like this C-800 Big Job:

Were they an option or didn't the C series have them?

Edit: just found a pic of a Big Job conventional cab without the scoop:

May have been an engine option based use?

Curious about the answer as well.

Ive had my eye on a 56 dump truck local for a while now that has the scoop on it.
Maybe I should gouge my eyes out though!

Only 332 with a 4 v carb had the hood scoop. And a big job could be had with a 2 v carb and would not have a scoop

Thanks, Kevin. If anyone would know it would be you! Could C series trucks be bought with a 4 barrel? I don't think I have seen a cabover with a scoop. It may be because of the different air cleaner set up.

I was under the illusion that the hood scoops indicated one of the Super Duty big block engines was in it (401, 477, 534).

Not in 56 as those engines are for newer models

Ok guys now you have peeked my interest just a little more. The 56 F800 that I was looking at had the scoop. The owner believes it is a Lincoln 317. Maybe it is/ was a 332?
We never got the hood open when I was there. And even if we had I would not have been able to tell the difference at this time. I mean I know what a Y block looks like, but don't have the info to tell a 317 from a 332 from looking at the engine, yet. So is a 332 even harder to get engine parts for????

BTW there was a group of rough trucks in another Big Job thread, The yellow one (F800 dump) did not have the scoop.

The Big Job scoop!

Folks,
Ok this has a cable system to the air duct with hand control in the dash. Was this the choke or something else? What's the scoop? (Pun intended)

Chris
