2015 F150 Lariat steering issue

Hey guys, thanks for checking this out. I'm a new member her so hopefully I found the right place for help. I recently purchased a 2015 F150 Lariat and found that when driving straight down the road, the steering feels a little "soupy." The truck goes straight when I let go of the wheel and there is no vibration. There is a small amount of play when I put my hand at the top of the wheel and move it from right to left. Also, when I hit a bump, the wheel will move noticeably and then go back to where it was at. I came from a 2008 Expedition and did not have any of these issues. It just does not feel as tight. Hard to explain I know. Not sure if there is something wrong with it, or if it's just that I haven't driven a pickup in a while (about 7 years since my last F150.) There is about 26k miles on her too.

Thanks for taking a look and for helping me out!

My bet is the electric assist power steering. Gives a very numb feeling when driving. Bumps and rolls in the road feel as if they don't exist. I hate it about 99% of the time (1% off road use it's great!).
You should swing by the Ford dealership and test drive another to see if it is the same, I bet it is.

We don't have that issue in our 2015 XLT. Steering feels firm, positive, and fully engaged. My guesses are that there may be something going on with your electric steering, or you may have worn ball joints or something else in the steering components.

If you got it from a dealer, I would take it back in to have it checked out.

Hmmmm ... that was a good description...I must say during the test ride I kinda thought the same thing... I would agree it is the electric power assist........I still have my 2006 super duty and I did buy a 2016 f150
