2008 f350 6.4 diesel fuse problem

Hello everyone I have the listed truck in the heading , my #9 fuse which is for the interior lighting, lighted running boards and it is a 15a fuse, keeps blowing as soon as I touch the fuse to the fuse box to replace it , I have look at all the map lights and interior lights and can not find any thing out of the ordinary, all of these light were working fine , also my cruise control and the back up sensors stopped working and they are not on the same fuse and the other components that are on the circuit with the crule and back sensors still work , I know that this is alot of different things but hate chasing electrical ghosts so any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

I would say wires or relay shorting. Are the running board lights after market? check the wiring to them, find out which fuse location they're tied into?. When I was losing all my dash lights, tail lights, my head light switch was shorting out on the inside.

Thank you for the info , the running board lights are after market individual led markers , and I think they might be the problem as I was poking are today two were cracked and had some water in them, and I have them tied into the parking lights at the head lights, and I keep losing head light bulb when ever I try to replace the #9 fuse , I ll try and disconnect the running lights and try the fuse . Thank you again for the info

I agree that there is a short in the wiring. I would start at the running boards. See if you can find the starting point where it is integrated into it's power source and then disconnect it.

See what happens then.
